Home Sweet Home

I got to thinking about Welcome Home cards and how they always feature a regular house/home on the front... but, not everyone lives in a "house". So, I thought, some people live in apartments, condos, multi-story buildings, etc. This is how this card came to be...first this very nice and simple sketch from Sandy at http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/ and second, a great architecture challenge  at http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/ combined into a perfect solution for me to create this card. Still time to join in the fun at both challenges!

Papers - From my "getting very full" Scrap Box
Green Panel - Cuttlebug "Pueblo" embossing folder
Image - By Websterspages:  Park Drive 6"x6" paper pad collection
Corners - A corner punch that I really like and seems to be very old. It was gifted to me, sorry no name stamped on it.
Sentiment - Printed and cut on my Explore, added small brass Brads to ends.

Enjoy the Ride!

Made this guy card, hope the recipient doesn't mind the cute tiny Butterflies, LOL! Kind of hard not to get too blingy on a guy card.
All my papers are from my Scrap box:
* Embossing - Cuttlebug "Cane Back Chair folder
* Bike & "enjoy the ride" - Close to My Heart acrylic stamps from the "It's Your Day/Constant Campaign" double-set collection. I colored the tire centers and chain cover with a silver metallic marker. All stamped with Stazon Black ink
* Butterflies - Old, old  mini rubber stamp from "Hero Arts Stamp, Inc. I filled in the Butterflies with assorted color Glitter Markers by American Crafts
* Added black ric-rak for the "street", and mini brown Brads.

Celebrating an Anniversary

I get quite a few requests for Anniversary and Sympathy cards,  I find them to be a very personal kind of card you send to a person. That is why I don't make many of them ahead of time. But, this sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week lends itself for a more simple kind of Anniversary card someone would appreciate to send,  when in a bind for this type of card. Hope you like it.
* Base is plain blue Cardstock
* Pattern Paper - Recollections "The Romantic" stack
* Congrats - Darice embossing strip folder
* Happy Anniversary - The text was first typed out and then printed on Explore right on the blue cardstock.
* Leaves - Sizzix "Branches & Leaves" die cut
* Corner - Fiskar punch
* Added a pre-made fabric flower and some pearls under the sentiment.

LadyBug, LadyBug

FIRST OF ALL,.. SO SORRY ABOUT MY POST....IT WENT WONKY ON ME!!!!
I have been waiting for a while for the perfect time to use this cute Ladybug ribbon. I think this digi from Bugaboo Stamps and this sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 all complement each other. I hope you like it, too!

*Papers - Plain black and is from my scrap box, the orange cardstock is by Webster's Pages, 6x6" "Parkdrive" collection stack.
*Frame - Is a Spellbinder metal die, which I matted with chipboard for depth.
* Digi - Is a Bugaboo Stamp digi, I colored it with watercolor pencils and Sharpie pens. I am not too much into coloring. So, please bear with me, LOL! On the leaves and flower center I added some Gelly pen "Clear Star" for a glittery effect. The black spots on the Ladybug, I covered with black "Enamel Accents" ink by Inkssentials, for a 3-D look.
* Ribbon - Is from an "Offray MicroSpool". Cute little booger this spool, but only holds three yards of this Ladybug ribbon :( :( :( !

 * Embellishments - Are Skittles in Pink, Purple, and Orange
 * Squares - Also cut at 2"x2" on the Explore, out of plain assorted color cardstock pieces from my scrap box.
 * Embossing - Is an embossing folder by Cricut called "Modern Wallpaper"
 * Bunnies - I found on clearance last year after Easter, at Michael's, they are stick-ons made of felt by Idea+lology.
 * Flower -  "Island Pastel Tin" collection, at Michael's, added a small satin bow.

Freshly Made Sketches

  Bright & Sunny
This week is a CAS sketch at http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/. The sketch really is very clean and simple, I had a hard time deciding how to make it. I had so many ideas swirling in my head, I finally decided to use assorted designs and textures in monotone yellows.
I started with a plain white pre-folded card base and added a chipboard backed panel.
Panel - Embossed with a "Swiss Dots" Cuttlebug folder
Circles - I cut both with a Spellbinder die. I chip boarded the smaller circle, attached it to the larger chip boarded circle, which I also embossed with the same folder.
Trims - Are from a pack of assorted yellow, rick-rack, laces, ribbons, and cords. Sorry I don't have the product name anymore on it.
Sentiment - "You Brighten My Life" is computer-generated and cut out with the Spellbinders.
I'm happy how it turned out. All the yellow against the white gives it a bright and sunny look.
